Mathilda's obituary

We lovingly remember Mathilda Gobert Guillory, our family matriarch whose spirit departed us on June 6, 2024 at the age of 86. Mathilda was born on February 26, 1938 to the late Marion Gobert Sr. and Aimee Fontenot Gobert, in Mallet, Louisiana. Mathilda built her life with her late husband Louis Guillory in the San Francisco Bay Area before relocating again to Georgia with her daughter and three grandchildren in 2004. She loved football, westerns, and country music. Her greatest interest, however, was being a grandmother as reflected by the collection of children’s artwork she kept displayed on her wall with pride. She is survived by three sisters MaeDell Bellard of Houston, Texas, Arlene Orphy (Allen) of Iowa, Louisiana, and Mary Elizabeth Malveaux (Perkins) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; her daughter, Elaine Minor (Antoine) of Jonesboro, Georgia; her son, Edward Guillory of West Pittsburg, California; seven grandchildren, Kayla Grundy (Damien) of Concord, California, Dominique Delgado-Sanders (Daniel) of Mishawaka, Indiana, E.J Guillory of Antioch, California, Antoine Minor Jr., of Bay Point, California, Michael Delgado (Denise) of Winchester, California, Jazmyn Guillory of Midland, Texas, and Jayda Guillory of Stockton, California; and eight great grandchildren: Shawn, Haylee, Olivia, Aiden, Damien, Hannah, Isabella, and Victor.

At Mathilda’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
