Mr. Ho Van Mat went home to Jesus on October 02, 2024, at age 91.

Mat was born to Mr. & Mrs. Ho Thi Ky approximately on October 05, 1933 in Nong Son, Dien Ban, Quang Nam, in Vietnam. As a child, he lost his father when he was 3-year-old.

Mat met his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue in 1962 when he was stationed in the army at Qui-Nhon. They married on April 05, 1964, at Dalat when he was discharged, and went on to have two children, Ho Co-Nghiep and Ho Vinh-Nghiep. He founded a social relief NGO with 7 charter members and became the first Executive Director of Tong Doan Thanh Nien Co Doc Xa Hoi (Christian Youth Social Services). After the Vietnam War ended in 1975, he returned to a private life but always tried to help the poor and needy. He sent his sons to escape Vietnam in 1982 but stayed back. He had a lot of turmoil in the following decades but finally reunited with his wife and children in the United States in 2012. Despite the ups and downs of life especially the progressing dementia, he was reconciled to God and his wife and children.

Mat is now in Heaven. He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hue; his eldest son: Mr. Ho Co-Nghiep (Bumble), wife Hoang (Jenney), ?and son Timmy; and his youngest son: Mr. Ho Vinh-Nghiep (Lee), wife Hang (Michele), and children Micah, Noah, and Kenaniah.
