MaryAnn J. Govoni

1947-2025

West Springfield- MaryAnn J. Govoni, 78, passed away on July 2, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered for her remarkable perseverance through a life of challenges, her love of her children and her faith in God, Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

MaryAnn was born in Springfield on April 4, 1947, a daughter of the late George Henry and Jean Theresa (Ollari) Govoni; and was a resident of the Springfield area all her life. MaryAnn was a graduate of the former Sacred Heart Grammar School, the former Cathedral High School and the former Springfield Technical Institute: where she graduated as a medical assistant.
 She loved to pray, walk for miles, swim laps in lakes and her pool and lay in the sun.

MaryAnn is survived by her loving daughter Malinda Jean Govoni and husband Michael; her devoted son Anthony Joseph Govoni; her caring brother George Anthony Govoni and two loving sisters, Theresa Jean Govoni Moylan and husband Timothy, Joanie Louise Govoni Shea and her husband Rick; three nephews, Bart and Timothy Moylan and Michael Joseph Shea and niece Tara Jean Shea.

A funeral mass will be offered at 10:00am on Saturday July 12, 2025 at the Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St., in Springfield. MaryAnn will be laid to rest in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lisa’s Light of Hope/Lisa M. Calabrese Memorial Fund on this memorial page.
