Mary Sutton, 74, of Oakley, CA, passed away on April 19, 2022 after a tenacious battle with leukemia.

1. 
   Mary was born on March 26, 1948 to Thomas Hall and Mary Agnes Downs in Altadena, CA.    After graduating from Franklin High School in 1963.  After graduation she went straight to work for Pacific Bell.  In 1967 she met Jimmie Ray Sartor at church and they were married in 1968.  They had two children, Kristy and Brian.    Her career at the phone company continued to advance and eventually the family would relocate nearer the company's headquarters.  They moved from San Diego to Concord in the East Bay of Northern California where Mary would commute to San Francisco and then San Ramon. In 1990 she was married E. Ray Sutton. Pacific Bell is where she advanced in her career and retired in 1995 after working there 30 years.
   
   When Mary had Kristy, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Mary excelled at propping up her children and grandchildren supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Mary was  passionate about sewing and her garden and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her backyard tending to her roses and vegetables. We will miss her greatly.
   
   Mary was predeceased by Thomas Downs, Mary Agnes Downs, Tom Downs, and E. Ray Sutton. She is survived by Kristy (Rob), Brian (Emily) Travis, Amber, (Sam) her 9 grandchildren and granddaughter . There will be a celebration of life on May 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Golden Hills Church in Brentwood.
