I have never grieved the loss of a friend like I have that of Mary Ellen. She was my godly mother in Christ. She was someone I could always lean on and trust in for the best scripture advice. She always had a beautiful smile and a quick laugh. Her grace and inward beauty absolutely linger on and on in my heart. Much love to the family. 💕💕💕

Mary Ellen came into my life four years ago. I knew immediately that I had to know her. Our friendship checked every box. She was sweet, considerate, empathetic, kind, always generous with her words and her time. Mary Ellen showed me depths of the bible that I never knew before. She answered every question and talked for hours about Jesus. Mary Ellen took me by the hand and led me back to the Lord! She and Peter have become an important part of our family, and we, a part of theirs. She told the best stories. She made the most incredible lemon dessert! She loved growing vegetables and giving away bushels of peaches. I cherish the wise words, tight hugs and unconditional love we shared, knowing that I am a better person having been loved by Mary Ellen.

The first big adventure in our growing up years occurred when Mary Ellen was 6 or 7 and I, Sharon, was 4 or 5. Our parents rented horses and our families packed into Frog Lake.
We all rode horseback and had tents, sleeping bags, cooking utensils, clothes, a rubber boat and other necessities. No laptops, no phones. What an adventure it was. Mary Ellen learned that she loved horses and it became her dream to own one. When she was old enough and big enough to take care of one, she got a horse. Hayburner, as my dad called it. Mary Ellen never considered it a chore to take care of her animal, that horse was groomed, fed and watered without fail. It was a lifelong love.
She was always caring, always making sure that those around her had their needs met.
The years slipped away as we grew older but we kept in touch. She was my sister, she was my friend. We had some magic days in the fall of this year when I got to visit for a few short days what a special time it was.

Our condolences go out to Mary Ellen's family and friends. She was a Great lady. I miss her terribly. But I know that she is in heaven, and I will see her again!
