Mary's obituary
She is survived by her devoted husband Wade Spoklie of 35 years.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her daughter Cindie Wyant (David), of Colorado; son Joe Gorski (Celesha), of Oregon; granddaughters Emily Olander (Todd) and Lindsay Saggau (Will); and 1 great-granddaughter, Kennedy Saggau (age 4).
Mary was born June 13, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri, where she was educated in an all-girl's Catholic school. She was an exceptional tele-typist and secretary, and developed a love for modeling at a young age. During the 1960's, she and her girlfriends made a career of agency modeling at various venues in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Later, she taught modeling techniques and cosmetics application for several years at Barbizon Modeling Center in Denver, Colorado. During this period of time, she also enjoyed traveling to Europe on many cruises and land tours. Mary's close neighborhood girlfriends, nicknamed The Mafia, enjoyed playing card games, shopping, cocktails, and having fun.
Wade and Mary met in Denver in the early 1980's, and later married in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1984.
They established (at different times) homes in Colorado, Florida, Idaho, and Arizona. Wade and Mary enjoyed long road-trips to South Carolina, Tennessee, Sturgis, and vacationing in the Bahamas.
Some of our fondest memories of Mary include: holding a cigarette in one hand and a Coca-Cola in the other (while playing cards), wearing sweaters in 90 degree weather because she was always cold, her gourmet cooking including stuffed bell peppers, her love of exercising at the gym, her expertise of home decorating, and just being beautiful Mary.
