Mary Lisa Ackerman Smith 10-15-64 to 1-11-2018

Beloved wife of Vincent Burkhead. Lisa was born in Norton Kansas to John Ackerman and Marilyn Lesh Ackerman.

Lisa lived a full vibrant life in which she fought valiantly to survive. Unfortunately, a rare hard to beat form of cancer took her from us way too early.

Lisa was a dedicated English and Literary teacher touching and making better many lives. She was wise and kind, and her warm and compassionate personality will be missed by so many.

She was predeceased by her adoring grandparents Henry and Pauline Ackerman, Gilbert and Edna Lesh also her great-grandparents William and Florence Erickson and Orlando and Leila Lesh. She was also predeceased by her mother in law Brenda Sherrard.

She is survived by her beloved husband Vincent Burkhead, her father John Ackerman Sr and his wife Tonia, her mother Marilyn Le Roy and her husband Jack, her sister Mandy Ackerman, her brother John Ackerman and his wife Rachel.

She is also survived by her sister in law Julie Neal and her husband Mike, and a niece Micaela, and a brother in law Mike Burkhead. She is also survived and greatly missed by her canine kids Nigel and Baxter.

Mary Lisa will forever be missed by a host of friends and family she loved dearly.
