Seth-- I just heard of Mary's death today and was terribly saddened but glad she is now free from pain. She played an enormous role in my professional life as a nurse colposcopist and I could never have achieved what I did without her teaching, guidance and support. She was a true pioneer in the field of colposcopy education by training and promoting the role of the nurse colposcopist. I remember fondly our trip to New Zealand, where we shared the American experience with others from around the world. I never wear a scarf without thinking of how beautifully she wore them. She was one in a million and I am the lucky one to have had our paths cross. I send my deepest condolences.
I was so saddened when I heard the news of Mary's passing. As a midwife, I was absolutely in awe of her expertise when I attended her colposcopy course at Planned Parenthood in Philadelphia in 1991. That she was respected by so many physician and nurse colleagues for her scholarship and clinical expertise was commendable. I followed her activities through NPWH and ASCCP for more than 20 years. What a humble person she was, yet she shined a beacon of light that inspired nurses everywhere.
Mary was an amazing clinician and educator. I was privileged to work with her at (then called) California Family Health Council. I will remember her fondly and I appreciate her contributions to the field of women's health. Rest well Mary.🙏🏾❤
I had the honor and privilege of working with Mary at Education Programs Associates. She was a powerhouse of affirmation and wisdom. I could always call on her for advice and consult. I'm so grateful to have known her. I can't believe she's gone. She meant so much to all of us.
