So very sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. She was a sweet gentle person. I’ll be seeing you very soon Mary.
Phil and I are so, so sorry to learn of Mary’s passing. I knew Mary via our AME Companion program and so admired her ability to conduct herself with tremendous grace & dignity, whatever the circumstances. Mary will be missed.

Mary and Dan Thanksgiving dan…
Mary and Dan Thanksgiving dance party 2018❤️
Mary, such a wonderful person.  We've known Mary and Ken for over 20 years and always enjoyed our times together.  So many times were spent laughing and sharing stories and watching our kids grow up alongside Mary's granddaughters Hannah and Zoe.  We enjoyed many things together and most recently our fun zoom happy hours which often went over two hours.  We also enjoyed watching the transformation of sweet, loving innocent matron to competitive and sometimes a bit off color card/game player.   Her cakes, her hugs and her laugh were three of the many things that made her stand out as not only a great parent and grand parent of our friends but also as a dear friend to us.  We're so thankful to have been a part of the fun times.

When your child marries, you hope the spouse he chooses is loving, caring and will make him happy.  You don’t think about the parents that come along with the spouse.  At least, not right away.  When Glenn and Karen married we added Mary and Ken, Karen’s parents, to our family and were we ever lucky.  In Yiddish there is a wonderful word for this relationship.  It’s called your Machatunim.  Mary became our machatainista..

There was no one more thoughtful, helpful, loving and funny than Mary.  When grandchildren came along, Mary was always there to help, to shop, to cook and to bake the most amazing birthday cakes for Hannah and Zoë..She knew we traveled far to see the kids and didn’t see them as often as she did so when we visited she was sensitive about giving us more time with the girls.

For over two years, during the pandemic, we had Friday night FaceTime with Mary and Ken.  We looked forward to these conversations and, because it was just the four of us, it brought us that much closer.  We’d share a toast with wine and discuss our favorite tv shows, what we’ve been doing and funny stories about our younger lives.  It was always special.  We will miss seeing Mary every Friday.

We watched Mary bravely fight her cancer.  It was a very difficult battle that she faced with hope and dignity.  We so admired her spirit and willingness to do whatever it took to survive as long as possible.  We are sad beyond words that the battle was lost.  We love and miss you, Mary.

We were saddened to hear about Mary.  She was a great friend, wife, mother and grandmother.  We hope your many wonderful memories will comfort you  and make you smile.  To describe Mary in one word, sweet.

Fondly,  Toby and Cherie Kinerk

Thank you, Mary for all you’ve done to better our community. Our deepest sympathies to the Rolfes family during this difficult time. Thinking of you and sending thoughts and prayers.
Ken and Mary have been very dear friends for many years. I pray that God will grant His amazing grace and mercy to Ken and the family as they mourn the loss of a very sweet and special wife, mom and grandma. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. All my love, Greg
Our deepest sympathies are with your family.  It’s sad to see our classmates leave us but some day we will all be joined together.

Ken - I was so saddened to learn Mary had pancreatic cancer. I can only imagine how much you will miss her. You created many memories together. They will bring you smiles and joy in the days and months ahead.

Becky

So sorry to hear about Mary. She was always so good-natured, loving and full of life. And she was so dedicated to her family. I loved how much she loved her grandchildren. She delighted in them and encouraged their hobbies.

Sending lots of hugs to you all. ❤️
