So sorry for the loss of your mother.

Grandma Mary had a profound impact on my walk with God and my church life during my early 20s. I’m forever grateful to have crossed paths with her and have her as a mentor/loving Grandmother figure.

Mary was a truly beautiful woman inside and out. She cared deeply for her family and her little boy, Jack. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her!❤️

The world has lost a beautiful soul.
I met Mary at Christian Chapel of Walnut where she took me under her wing and guided me as a new believer. I would go to her house, just up the street from church, to her potlucks, where she would introduce me to all her beautiful people.
I’ll never forget, years later after leaving Christian Chapel, and not having much contact with Mary, I was to get married. On a whim, still having her address, I sent her an invite and she showed up. I was honored!
I’ll see you in heaven Mary

I met Mary as a result of an outreach to the Batson Apartments and she began attending Christian Chapel in Walnut, CA. She brought her love of Jesus and her infectious humor and impacted everyone she met. She became a mom to many and well as sister and dear friend. She supported her “3 girls” myself, Judy and Gilli missionaries at first to Brazil. She came to Brazil with a team from Church and all of our Brazilian friends fell in love with her. Her passionate love for Jesus filled her with love for others. She brought her gift of humor and laughter even at her own expense. I remember she got caught in a bus turnstile and had the entire bus laughing! She went to Guinea Bissau, West Africa and served at the YWAM base there with Judy and Gilli she was truly selfless
She encouraged me to be thankful in spite of hard circumstances always turning my eyes upon Jesus. One of my favorite time was at her home in Tarzana when several of us had lunch at her house to surprise Clare “just because”. When her dear friend Clare Mason stepped into Heaven , I shared this quote with her - I pray it encourages us today.
“I shall rise from the dead…. I shall see the Son of God, the Sun of Glory, and shine myself as than sun shines. I shall be united to the Ancient of Days, to God Himself, who had no morning, never began… No man ever saw God and lived. And yet, I shall not live till I see God; and when I have seen him, I shall never die.” ~ John Donne

Lamont, we are so sorry for your loss. So although we will miss her, we don’t mourn as the world does. Because Mary was a daughter of King Jesus, today she is with Him in paradise. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Bill, MonaLisa, Marissa and David Martinez
