Every year between 1978 and 1984 (7 years), we would drive to San Diego to watch BYU play in the Holiday Bowl. One year (1982) was especially "difficult" because Deborah had a tracheotomy tube (long story about swallowing a penny!) and Ed & Mary were asked to watch all the kids---including Deborah---while we went to the game. Mary never hesitated, although I think Ed was TERRIFIED the entire time we were gone!
The whole family gathered at my parent's home in Connecticut to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Mary and Ed are in the back row. Eddie and Greg are in the front row.
Every summer, Mary would take two of the girls for a special "week with Aunt Mary". They would go to all the zoos, parks, beaches, and other attractions. Unforgettable memories!
We had a lot of kids (6 daughters!) and not much money, so every year Mary did Christmas for the Frandsen girls!! She would shop all year long to get the best deals and the most "wanted" gifts. The girls all remember Christmas at Aunt Mary's house as their best childhood memory!
Mary always sent a gift every time a niece or nephew (or grand niece or nephew) was born. This is the bear she gave Owen who is now in kindergarten and still takes it to bed with him every night. A bear has never been so loved!!!
