Ginny was born February 16, 1941 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of Peter A. Moran and Mary Arkle Moran. Ginny attended high school at St. Joseph’s Academy in Wheeling where she was a member of a debate team called the “Echoes.” She studied nursing at Hannah Harrison School in Washington, DC and worked as a licensed practical nurse at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, at a physician’s office in Wheeling, and the Corbett Clinic in Chicago. Ginny moved to Ohio and was employed at Manor Care Nursing Home in North Canton and worked as a program manager at the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities in Canton. Later Ginny followed her passion by serving the parish in the office at St. Paul Catholic Church in North Canton.
She loved singing, dancing, and writing poems and stories. Ginny was devoted to prayer and shared her faith with others by participating in parish retreats. She took great pleasure in being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Ginny joyfully embraced her Irish heritage, and she left a lasting impact on the people she met through her smile and words of kindness.
Ginny is survived by her loving children, Michael Schaub and wife Jill of Fairfax, VA; Brian Schaub and wife Mandy of Duncan, SC; and Julie Braun and husband Mike of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; and seven grandchildren, Zachary Braun, Daniel Braun, Joseph Braun, Andrew Schaub, Max Schaub, Claire Schaub, and Kate Schaub.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents and seven older sisters, Sister Laetitia Marie Moran, SSJ, Phylis Killeen, Evelyn Dewey, Patricia Neumann, Barbara Sheppard, Camilla Straughn, and Martha Jo Jackson.
Family and friends may meet on May 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at Saint Paul Catholic Church, 241 S. Main St., North Canton, OH 44720, for a Mass of Christian Burial. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the North Canton Civic Center, 845 W. Maple St., North Canton, OH 44720. A private burial will be held on May 15 at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
