Mary Melendez, 79, passed away peacefully in Goodyear, AZ on March 5, 2024.

Mary was born and raised in Tolleson, AZ and was a graduate of Tolleson Union High School. She had a successful career as a medical assistant where she shared her warmth and joyful energy.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Tomasa Lopez, husband Abel Melendez, son Rudy Melendez, sister Gavina Ayala, and brothers Raymond and Juan Lopez.

Mary is survived by her daughter Sonia Cabrales, son-in-law Tony Cabrales, 5 grandchildren, great-grandchild, brothers Ernie and Jose Lopez, sister Frances Algaray, many family members and friends.

She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation/Rosary/Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 22, at 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 512 N 93rd Avenue, Tolleson AZ 85353 with burial immediately following at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 9925 W Thomas Rd, Avondale AZ 85392.
