Mary's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Lou Stanley beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who left this world peacefully on September 3, 2025 at the age of 77. After 51 wonderful years of marriage to Tony, she leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and kindness. She is survived by her husband Carl (Tony) Stanley, Son Paul Stanley, Daughter-in-Law Jennifer Stanley, Grandchildren Ethan and Kendall Stanley.

Daughter to Lena & Phil Mordick (deceased) Brother Frank & Sharon (deceased) Mordick, Sister Rose M. Johnson, brother Philip & Jane Mordick, numerous nieces’ & nephews and many loving cousins. Born on December 9, 1947, in Rockford, IL, Mary was known for her kindness and her commitment to serving others. She had an incredible gift for making people feel seen and valued, often bringing joy and comfort through her genuine care. Her grandchildren, Ethan and Kendall, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

Mary had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her with her warm smile and kind words. She was a true friend to many, and her impact on the lives she touched will be felt for years to come.

A celebration of her life will be held on October 4, 2025 at Central Christian Church, 6595 Guilford Rd. From Noon-3pm. Mary will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will forever live on in our hearts, and we find comfort in the love she shared throughout her life.
