Mary was born just before the winter of 1940 to Ann and Michael Cody who had recently immigrated to the US from County Cork, Ireland. Mary was the first of their 3 children. Her father died when Mary was just 5 years old. Her mom was aided by her two sisters raising the 3 children. Mary went to work at the local doctors' office as a preteenager until college where she found her love for …
