Mary Kurkowski, 62, of Sun City AZ passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020. She had been battling metastatic breast cancer for the past two years. She was lovingly assisted by Lynn, LaRaine, Jim, Doug and her Parents, John and Dorothy, in her last month in hospice at her AZ home. During this ordeal Mary never complained.

Mary was born in Mankato MN, November 19th , 1957. Most of her childhood was spent in Duluth MN. She graduated from Duluth Central High School and attended Vocational school.

Mary is survived by her parents , John and Dorothy Kurkowski,
Her siblings , Doug (Jill) Kurkowski, Lynn Panek (LaRaine Morris),
and Jim (Angie Robinson) Kurkowski.
Nieces and nephews Jason Panek , Jackie Braund, Samantha Kurkowski,
Cory Kurkowski, Tim Kurkowski, Shannon Kurkowski, and many cousins.

Mary moved around quite a bit throughout her life due to job changes, from Duluth, MN to Sioux Falls SD to St. Augustine FL to Phoenix AZ.

Mary loved crafting projects and was adept at cross stitch, sewing, collages and quilt making. She made art and clothing for many members of the family including shirts, vests, jackets and more. It was very important to Mary to
distribute these items to friends and family at Christmas.

Mary very much liked coming back to Minnesota to visit. She liked to go fishing, boating and filling a bucket with blueberries. Often we would all gather up on the Gunflint Trail at the folks cabin and go canoeing and fishing and admiring the great outdoors in the BWCA.

We have not yet decided how to celebrate Mary’s life, but if you are interested in attending an event, please send your email to: kurkowski77@gmail.com and we will keep you informed. The initial plan is to bring Mary’s remains home to Mankato, MN during summer of 2021.
