Mary "The Walker" Gerhard, 80, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on December 1, 2022 after a courageous  battle with Melanoma cancer

Mary was born on July  11, 1942 to Richard Wengert and Jeanette (Trievel) Bartman in Pottstown, PA .  

Mary attended Pottsgrove High School  and was in the Honor Society. She received awards and certificates for her Shorthand and Typing achievements. 

She was a Baker for 10 years at the former Dunking Donuts located in Pottstown, PA.  From there she  assembled electrical wiring harnesses at East Pottstown Assembly Pottstown, PA until they closed. 

 Surviving are her children George Hewitt and his wife Deborah Pottstown, PA; Wanda Brown Pottstown, PA; J. Richard Baer widower if Cindy Reading, PA; Mandee Grabowski and her husband Ron Gilbertsville, PA; Robert Wengert and his wife Laura Reading, PA.

Her sister Sarah Kittle and her husband Harry Lawrenceville, PA and her brother Charles Wengert and his wife Sue Hamburg, PA. She is preceded in death by her brothers  Harry Wengert and William Wengert  both served during the Vietnam War. 

Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

Mary enjoyed crossword puzzles and an avid walker. She was involved with the community and assisted with shelters for the homeless. Mary touched the lives of many and will greatly missed.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday December 9, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ Episcopal Church 316 East High Street Pottstown, PA at the Parish Hall.
