Mary Lois's obituary

On Sunday, March 6, 2022, Mary Lois Ferraro of Littleton, CO, went to be with Jesus.

Mary Lois was born on June 11, 1942 in Washington DC to Fred and Lois Balsam.  She is survived by her husband, Paul, sons, Timothy and Jon, brother Fredrick, sister Patricia, four grandchildren and a network of extended family.

After growing up in Rockville Maryland, she received her undergraduate degree in education at Juniata College, 1964, in Pennsylvania.  Subsequently, she earned her master’s degree in education from the University of Northern Colorado. She was a teacher at both the high school and undergraduate level, with a specialization in teaching English as a second language.  Mary Lois's passion for helping others master the English language benefited many students. She developed long-lasting friendships with some of her students.

Mary Lois demonstrated her value for creating a gracious and traditional home where dinner was served in the dining room, guests were welcomed with abundant food, and many travelers were accommodated.  She shared her husband’s passion for missionary work in Thailand and Burma, making trips, supporting the work and serving on the board of Frontier Labourers for Christ.
