Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Crocker King passed away peacefully on the morning of May 2, 2021, surrounded by family. She was born January 7, 1952, in Demopolis, AL. She was a graduate of Demopolis High School and the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. After settling in Mobile, she raised two sons and was employed by the Mobile Public School System.

She was known to many of her family and friends as Betty Boo, Boop, or Boopie. She is remembered by all as a kind and gracious friend whose faith in the Lord never wavered. She was an active member of Church of the Highlands and volunteered in many of its outreach programs. She was a lifelong lover of animals, and over the decades provided a loving home to many four-legged friends. She had a passion for cooking and always showered her family and friends with her culinary creations. Her greatest joy came from motherhood, and she loved both her sons with all her heart.

She is survived by her son Christopher David King (Dominique), granddaughters Violet Elizabeth Grace and Hazel Elaine, and brothers Van Crocker (Wanda) and Michael Crocker (Janine). She was preceded in death by her son Andrew Michael King, parents Martha “Deedle” Simmons and Z. P. Crocker, Jr., and brother Lewis Simmons.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Heron Lakes Country Club on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1p.m. In lieu of flowers, Betty requested that donations be made to the SPCA of Mobile at https://www.mobilespca.org/do….
