Hello Everyone! Quick update for tomorrow. While it looks like the rain has passed, it is still calling for chilly weather. Please dress appropriately and warm! Also update fr Dulaney Valley, meet at the lake in your cars and we will drive over to the site together. Thank you again and looking forward to tomorrow.

My condolences to Mary Ellen's family. I first met Mary Ellen when my husband introduced us, this was before I started my nursing career at Franklin Square Hospital. She actually helped me get my first job there after graduating. I loved both Emmy and Patrick ever since then. She was a big part of our lives. Shared laughs, tears, travels, good and bad times together. I miss her so much. Many times I want to call her and share some funny things that have happened at times. Things that I know she would love to hear.

Mary Ellen was my co-worker for years in the 1990s in the ICU at Franklin Square. I remember working one weekend, and my Bassett hound, Freddy, had just passed. I was sad that day at work. Later that day, Mary Ellen had a name of a breeder in the area that had a litter of Bassett hound pups. I told Mary Ellen that it was too soon. Three weeks later, after work, Mary Ellen, one of her daughters, and I were on our way to Ferndale to pick up my new Freddy. I loved Mary Ellen and will miss her so much. She was such a great person, friend, and nurse.

My first day as an intern physician in the ICU. The attending was known to be tough and exacting. Me: “I want to give Lasix?” Nurse Mary Ellen: “Dr King has ordered 40 mg Lasix IV, strict I’s and O’s with expected net negative of 1 liter, and BMP in the AM for monitoring”. (I, of course had not yet done those things and Nurse Mary Ellen saved me and the patient). I am forever grateful for her teaching, humor, kindness, wisdom and undeserved friendship over the ensuing 35 years.
I knew I’d love ME from the first time I met her. She was kind, funny, compassionate, and welcoming. ❤️
I miss Mary Ellen every single day. We all loved her as a dear friend and neighbor.🙏💓🙏
