Mary Chapman passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness, strength, and caring spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Mary found her greatest joy in her family. She is lovingly survived by her children: Melody Signs and her husband Mark, George Signs and his wife Darci, Heather Epting and her husband Warren, and Brian Rhodes. She leaves behind a large and loving family, including fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Mary will be remembered for her open home, commanding presence, and the unconditional love she shared so freely. Whether through a comforting conversation, a shared meal, or simply being there when someone needed her, she was always there.

Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 7, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Raccoon River Park Nature Lodge, 2500 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines, Iowa.
