Mary's obituary

Mrs. Mary Ellen Polk Braddy, age 89, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and was a homemaker. She was a former long-time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a member of Normantown Baptist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, yard work, flowers, gardening, and animals. She is preceded in death by her husband, Delwin Jay Braddy; parents, Maloy Jefferson Polk and Bertha Irene Booth Polk; three siblings, Robert “Bob” Polk, Billie Polk Sapp, and Bennie Irene Polk; and son-in-law, Buddy Williamson.

Survivors include five children, Joseph Wayne Braddy and wife Julia Clarice of Lyons, Janice Braddy Reid and husband James of Vidalia, Martha Braddy Williamson of Normantown, Teresa Fay Braddy of Vidalia, and Roger Braddy of Vidalia; grandchildren, Cindy Siegfried and husband Jeff, Lynn Burkhalter and Russell Mullis, Brad Williamson and wife Laura, Heather Phillips, Amy Moore and husband Robert, Kari Pieniazek and husband Brian, and Clayton Reid; ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 25th, from 1:00 until 2:30.

A graveside funeral service will be Thursday, March 25th, at 3:00 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 4969 GA Hwy 15, Vidalia, GA 30474. Pastor Dannie Williams will officiate.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society, P.O. Box 210, Vidalia, GA 30475.
