Mary Bacile Palmer, aged 79 of Houston, died peacefully on November 1, 2018. Mary was born on December 8, 1938, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Marion Bacile and Mary Leggio Bacile.
Mary attended Sam Houston State Teachers College and graduated from the College of Education at the University of Houston. She later attended St. Thomas University, and earned a M.Ed. in Special Education. She was a dedicated educator for many years, and taught elementary school and special needs children.
Mary was happiest spending time with her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her children: Robert Palmer, Jr. and Penny Anderson (David); grandchildren, Stewart Anderson (Maricela Varela) and Meg Sharfe (Evan); great grandchild, Valentina Varela Anderson; and her brother, Nick Bacile (Margie).
A public visitation is scheduled at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Monday, November 5 at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. There will be a private graveside service for immediate family members at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date (TBD). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in her name to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 4015 Sherman Street, Houston, TX 77003-2695.
