Marvin's obituary

Marvin Leon Glover of Washington, D.C., was born September 16, 1944, and departed this life on December 23, 2025.

A graduate of Spingarn High School, Marvin proudly served four years in the United States Air Force with the Strategic Air Command. He later dedicated 52 years of federal service, retiring in 2020. Marvin worked at the National Archives and Records Administration in the Motion Picture Division, where he restored historic films, including footage of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., George Washington Carver, and the Negro Soldiers.

Marvin was married for 50 years to his beloved wife, Carol L. Glover, who preceded him in death. He was a devoted husband, father, and family man who loved music, sports, friendly competition, and sharing joy with others.

He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Hall (Terrance) and Shawnta Twyman (Larry); step-grandchildren Dametre, Nathaniel, Dorien, and Charlie; brothers Hoyt and James (Nita); and a host of relatives and friends.

Marvin leaves this world knowing he was deeply loved, his family was well cared for, and his legacy—like his music—will continue to play on.

Funeral service will not be held, and the interment will be private.
