Updates

Update from Feb. 2, 2026

In February, we will not be having a Zoom memorial. Rather, we would love for everyone to engage in acts of kindness in Martin's memory and post about it on Everloved or on Partiful. https://partiful.com/e/t6D76c…

Update from Jan. 26, 2026

January 2026: Acts of Kindness in Martin’s Memory

On February 16, 1998 Martin brightened our world. On February 24, 2023 he departed this earth. He left behind a family that is sad and broken in grief.

There is no replacement for his smart aleck jokes, fashion style, kindness and sense of fairness. We will not have another Zoom memorial this year. We ask that all who know Martin- friends and relatives initiate and continue to perform acts of kindness, compassion, charity or generosity in his memory starting February or sooner.

Please post what you do here on Ever Loved: https://everloved.com/life-of…

To give a start, Grace will be tutoring adults with learning difficulties. She has also been giving out material things to those in need.

Our family appreciates you.

Update from May 17, 2023

What’s made you think of Martin lately? Where have you placed your sticker of him? Feel free to share on the memorial site. ❤️

This weekend, May 13th, the Univeristy of New Haven invited the family to receive Martin’s MA.
I (Joanna) walked the stage to receive his diploma and flew home immediately after to bring it to the family. I’ll post photos on the site. Congratulations Martin! We miss you. We love you.

Update from April 23, 2023

Through 8 long weeks, thank you to everyone for continuing to support the family - both blood and his family in New Haven.
We still think about him all the time. Though things have quieted down, many people have contacted us randomly to share a dream or memory they had about Martin, or told us what reminds them of him.
Please continue to share these with us, whether it's days or years from now. It is always welcome. You're also invited to share pictures of things that remind you of him, or stories/dream about him, on the website.

In the Filipino Catholic tradition, we celebrate and pray on the 40th day of someone's passing to protect their soul as they settle into the afterlife.

Please join us on Sunday (to accommodate those who cannot join on a weekday) and Tuesday as we pray for Martin and keep him in our hearts.

Kachow.

RSVP at Ever Loved to obtain Zoom links.
