Martha Akua “Nana Mart” Prempeh, Esq., of Union City, CA passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025. Born August 8, 1984, in Brooklyn, NY, Martha was the daughter of Osei Kwame Prempeh (deceased) and Lucy Dufie Prempeh.

A graduate of UC Berkeley and the University of Michigan Law School, she became an attorney and most recently worked at Modern Family Law and Liberty Mutual. She co-founded Prempeh and Zavala Legal Document Services and received the Alameda County Bar Association’s Distinguished Service Barrister Award in 2025.

Martha was a devoted mother to her daughter, Alexandra Nana Yaa Prempeh, and will be forever remembered for her generosity, intellect, warmth, and joyful spirit. She is survived by her mother, Lucy; siblings Joe, Kwaku, and Amma; her daughter, Alexandra; and family and friends in the USA, Ghana, the UK, France, Canada, and around the world.

The service and celebration of her life will be held on August 29th, 2025. Details are forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her memorial fund.
