So sorry Martha lost her battle, but she certainly won the fight in many ways due to her strength and fighting spirit. She did not want to give up or give in to the ravages of illness. She always had a kind word, a tight hug and a compliment for everyone she was around. Her light in this world will be missed, especially by Michael and family, along with her friends. Rest peacefully, Martha.
Martha and I met and quickly became inseparable as we both began jobs at a busy office and began confiding in each other and enjoying life. I soon met her sweet mother Clara Bee. It was no secret, Martha got her continuous positivity and sense of humor from her mama. We remained friends all this time although I lived out of town for several years but visited as often as possible. She had lots of different work skills and brought me on board with two companies she worked with. She looked after her friends, treated them with love and respect and kindness. She taught me how to be a friend and I am grateful for that and the bond we kept through thick and thin . Martha was a trooper throughout her illness..rarely any fear but she took things as they came to her and just dealt reasonably with things .She often told stories about her mother and father while remembering them vividly. She missed her parents dearly which showed what a family oriented person she was. I was glad to be a part of her family not by blood, but by a bond that was gracefully given me. She showed true respect for her friends and family and Michael exhibited the man that she truly deserved. .a bit later in life, but she was quite content with finding the man of her dreams after many years of being single. She was never without her dog, each one spoiled rotten. Her memory never faded on much of anything including her collection of movies, and all the actors she favorited. The many nights of supper and movies and hospitality at her home are deeply missed.
I'm truly glad that she and Michael found each other. He was her knight on the white horse she well waited for and deserved. That was her last true prayer answered, and loving his daughters was not hard for her. Countless times in her life I watched her use patience and all worked out well. Martha was a mentor for me in many ways. I was so shy in my 30's and she opened me up. She helped teach me to 'BE'..to BE who I am and be comfortable in my own skin. She was full of life and let it be known. Thank you 'Martha Mae'..I'll meet you above the treetops one day and we'll be singin' "Hallelujah". For now, you rest with no sickness or weakness and when Jesus comes again, we'll meet in the clouds together. You did well, my friend and sister.❤ I love you more

Martha was always a ray of sunshine, full of fun and laughs. A gracious lady of faith. I loved having her in our family!
