My family spent many vacations with John & Martha Nell & family. We all stayed in huge houses with screen porches which were filled with beds. All the cousins slept on the porch. It was hot during the day so we left the screens up. We nearly froze to death that first night! Martha Nell in her way, came in the next night & made we weren’t “crazy”. The cabin was rustic. Running water- all cold. Showers, if you could stand it. Shaving our legs at the creek (not environmentally friendly)! Martha Nell, Aunt Margaret & my mom doing all the cooking. We at well! Eggs Benedict for breakfast even! I treasure these memories!
