Mrs. Barnard was the best English language teacher I ever had. I believe she was also my Homeroom teacher at one point( it’s been well over 40 years since High School). She had a lovely sense of humor but wasn’t afraid to correct us when appropriate.
Cindy and Ginger, I am so sorry I did not know this until today or I would have been at your mom's memorial service. She was a good friend, a fun person to be around, and we shared so many good times. How I wish now that I had stopped in more often to visit as I thought of her every time I passed your house. My heartfelt sympathy for you and your dad. My prayers are with you as go through the days ahead without her.
What a wonderful person. My sons Tommy and Randy were so lucky to have her in their life. I was lucky to be her Forest West neighbor. Prayers of peace for her husband and family.
What a joy and privilege to have known Martha Barnard and teach next door to her. Always smiling, she was cheerful and encouraging. She will be greatly missed. Sally Brashear
I enjoyed being in class with Martha and in her home for the best meetings and visits. She had so much to give and was so delightful to be with. So sorry for your loss.
Mrs. Barnard was my homeroom teacher for a time. I have good memories of her. She was always at the door of her classroom to greet us when we came in. She always had time to have a word for her students. I remember her sense of humor and how she cared for her students.
My home room teacher for 6 years at Scarborough JR-SR High School. Mrs Barnard was always my favorite teacher. She was supportive, encouraging and fun. She will be missed. I pray for comfort for Mr Barnard, Cindy and Ginger and the rest of the family.
Susan Hartman- To the family of Mrs. Barnard, she was a very sweet lady and a great teacher. My prayers are with yall during this time and so sorry for your loss.
Mrs. Barnard was the nicest teacher at Scarborough, I remember her standing outside her classroom always with a smiling face welcoming her students in. Prayers of peace to your family.
To the family -- I'm so sorry for your loss. The rest of us were lucky to have been taught by her or to be her friend. She was such a happy, smiling presence in the halls of Scarborough and on my street growing up. I was privileged to reconnect with her a few years back to talk about books and grammar and old friends. She was one of a kind and I will miss her.
She was a great friend to my mother Frances Buckner during her teaching years at Scarborough. I still use a cooking she gave my mother. I hope they reconnect in heaven.....Sending prayers and peace to your family during this time of loss.
