Mrs. Martha Nell Galbreath Austin, age 99, of Vidalia, Georgia, died June 22, 2022, at The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia after a brief illness.

A native of Toombs County, Georgia, she was a daughter of John Thomas “Tom” Galbreath, Sr. and Mary Ruby Booth Galbreath. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Austin was predeceased by her husband, James Henry “Jim” Austin, Sr.; son, James Henry “Jim” Austin, Jr.; brothers, John T. Galbreath, Jr., LeRoy “Roy” Galbreath, Dan Galbreath, and Samuel “Sam” Galbreath; and sisters, Pearl Whitfield, Katherine Owens, Elizabeth “Libby” Ruis, and Margarette Morrison.

Mrs. Austin is survived by her sister-in-law, Nana Galbreath of Vidalia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Austin was cremated and her ashes will be laid to rest beside her husband at Mount Zion Cemetery in Bethesda, Maryland. No funeral is planned.
