Dear Arpad, Lilla, Nushin and family,
I want to express my deepest condolences for the loss of your wife, mother. Reading Marta's obituary, I regret that I never got the chance to meet her, quite an inspiring life and career. I Hope you will get and find a lot of support from each other and from friends and family, to continue as Marta would have wished. Hang in there and have a lot of strength

My Dear Marta, we have known you since you came to US in the eighties. My family and I have so many great memories with you that we will cherish forever. You were beautiful smart, sexy and so kind and considerate and most of all brilliant. You lit up the room when you walked in and really everyone stopped to listen when you opened your mouth. What a brilliant human being, we truly lost a very special kind, gentle caring, generous mother, daughter, sister, wife and a genuine friend. you took the time to call me frequently from Miami, constantly advised me to keep my chin up when I was going thru some health issues. I have always admired you from the first day we met and will always keep a special place in my hear. May God bless your beautiful mom, sisters, brothers, your kind and loving husband Arpad and your beautiful girls Lila and Nushin Joon. You loved life and cherished every minute of it. RIP Marta Joon! I am deeply saddened by the news of your loss. I pray that God will grant you the strength. My sincere condolences.
I remember Marta’s smile, big heart and mostly her love to Lilla, Nushin, Arpad and to her family and friends. She was always kind and loving. The Massjouni family took me in and treated me like family (which we were). Marta was always sweet to me with her bright smile, and kind heart.
Although no words can take away the sparrow that you bare. May it be comforting to you to know that others care.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

My dear daughter-in-law Marta,
With an aching heart I write you since the goodbye we did not share stays unspoken. You left, but you are in our thoughts always. Your voice, your smile, and your every little movement lives on in us, and we carefully guard your smile.
Draga menyem Marta!

Hearing about Marta's sudden passing is such sad news that, while we did not have occasion to work together frequently, I feel compelled to say a little something in her honor. Whenever I did have the pleasure of being in her company, she always brought such a sense of fun and appreciation for her surroundings - I have fond memories of her smile and laugh and sharing video pictures from her balcony...she will live on in my memory with the images she shared of dolphins swimming and frolicking beneath her window. My condolences genuinely to all her family!

Marta, when we met in the early 90s, you had just arrived from Italy. We agreed that I would help you with your medical English and you would help me brush up my fading knowledge of Italian. A few days later, we were at the Watergate lounge, books and notepads in hand. You put a log in the fireplace and we sat at a table ready to work. We talked about the people we knew in common in Italy. We shared stories. You told me how there was a rumor on your campus that you were actually Persian royalty - a princess studying abroad incognito. We laughed. We got zero studying done that evening, but I gained a friend for life.
Since the moment my family learned that we would never see you again, we have been heartbroken. We do take comfort in the knowledge that you are in a place of indescribable peace, love and joy. But we who are left behind will miss you dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your loving family. May God bless you always.
