Marta's obituary

Obituary of Marta Prado Da Silva Evans

Marta Prado Da Silva Evans, 65, passed away on December 16, 2025, in North Salt Lake, Utah. She was born on June 3, 1960, in Redentora, Brazil, where her life of faith, service, and compassion first began.

Marta was a woman of strong and unwavering faith, deeply devoted to missionary work and to sharing love, hope, and kindness with everyone she encountered. Earlier in her life, she became a well-known and respected community leader in Passo Fundo, Brazil, where she touched countless lives through charity, outreach, and selfless service. Her legacy there — and everywhere she lived — is one of generosity, humility, and sincere care for others.

In 2006, Marta married John J. Evans of Samaria, Idaho. Together they built a life that spanned two countries, living part-time in the United States and part-time in Brazil. No matter where she was, Marta devoted herself fully to her family, her faith, and her mission of helping others.

Marta is survived by her husband, John J. Evans; her three children and nine grandchildren from her first marriage; and her ten step-children on John’s side. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose greatest joy was found in her family and in serving God.

Services were held in Kaysville, Utah, and Marta was laid to rest in Samaria, Idaho.

Marta will be remembered for her unwavering faith, strong character, and tireless dedication to others. Her life was a testimony of charity and selfless love, and her influence will continue to be felt through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
