Marshall's obituary
Marshall Alfred Laverne Jarreau, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 15, 2022, with his loving son by his side. Marshall went to Lincoln High School where he excelled at track & field earning him a scholarship to Marquette University. Always the life of the party, Marshall loved his family and friends. He often regaled us with song and stories about growing up as a minister’s son with his five siblings in Milwaukee, WI.
Marshall is survived by his sister Rose Marie Jarreau Freeman, former spouse Lynda Jarreau, former companion Vernita Clayton, children Lynette Jarreau (Dave), Marshall K. Jarreau, Kenton Clayton (Delores), grandchildren Shizuko Jackson (Joshua), Curtis Jackson (Finbarr), Sumiye Jarreau-Horton (Erick), Sydnie Beason, Jesse Jarreau, Jada Jarreau, Journey Clayton, great-grandchildren Mira and Remi Horton, nieces Katherine Winder, Jocelyn Freeman Williams, Karla Freeman Lloyd, nephews Emile A. Jarreau IV, Ryan Jarreau, cousins Melanie Lemons, Sandra Moss and Michelle Bates.
Marshall is preceded in death by his parents Emile Alphonse Jarreau II and Pearl Walker, siblings Emile Alphonse Jarreau III (Sharon), Joyce Pearl Jarreau Caldwell, Alphaeus Oliver Jarreau (Diane) and Alwin Lopez Jarreau (Susan), sister-in-law Beverly Jarreau Overton, niece Cheryl Jarreau and nephew Reginald Winder.
A private family burial will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park on Friday, September 30th at 10:30am. A Memorial Luncheon open to all will be held at 1:00 in the Great Memorial Lounge.
