Obituary of Mary Pearl Dumas
Dumas, Mary Pearl, Age 81 of Rosamond, CA.
She was born March 15, 1944 in Decatur, GA, the daughter of Crawford Lee and Hattie Mae (Emanuel) Pugh and passed away Monday March 17, 2025 at her home in Rosamond CA. She is predeceased by her parents Crawford Lee and Hattie Mae Pugh, her husband Charles Henry Dumas, her son Rheims Crawford Dumas, her daughter Ana Mercedes Vaughn Anyaogu and her sister Jacquelyn (Pugh) Hills. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Hattie and Odar Araujo of Long Beach, CA; son Don Tyler Dumas of Lancaster, CA; and son and daughter-in-law Terin Maurice and La Fleche Dumas of Fullerton, CA; siblings sister Barbara Pugh of Plant City, FL, sister Esther Pugh of Monroe, NC, brother and sister-in-law Harvey and May Ann Ociones Pugh of Elmira, NY sister and brother-in-law Cindy and Joseph Williams of Wellsburg, NY, sister Rhoda Pugh of Naples, FL and sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Kenneth Narde of Elmira, NY; her grandchildren Michelle Kimberly, Aaden Emanuel and Lily Esther, as well as a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary was an active member of the Rosamond congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Mary was also a master quilter, avid seamstress and baker. She will be remembered for her pithy wise sayings and devotion to family. Mary made it a point to call all of her six surving siblings at least once a month to, as she would say, "just to check in and see how you are doing." Mary was loved by many, she will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to Mary’s memorial service to be held on May 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1034 West Ave L Lancaster, California, 93534 and will be presided by Will Woods. The service will be available by Zoom.
