I dreamt of Marquex  last night. He was leaving for somewhere and going around the warehouse telling everyone goodbye. When he came to me we gave each other a big hug and we just held our embrace for such a long time. I kept telling him how much I loved him. When he was with us I would always say, “I love you, lil ole boy”

In my dream I kept saying, “I love you, lol ole boy. I’m gonna miss you, my lil ole boy”

It was so good to see him again and hold him in our long embrace. He was such a special young man. He will never be forgotten. Always in my heart.

My sincere heart felt condolences go our to Marquex’s surviving family. This was a sudden tragedy that rocked me more than most and can’t imagine the sorrow you are experiencing. Keep the faith, remembering that….”we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him” . Here’s to one of the finest young men I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. I had the honor of hiring Marquex and seeing him grow professionally over the past 6 years. Marquex had the world in his hands, capable of anything he put his mind too. I will forever remember Marquex as living life to the fullest; embraced new adventures and took on life challenges head on. If his smile didn't brightened up the room his laugh sure would!  I’m an avid cyclist and motorcyclist and began sharing these passions with Marquex. Next thing I know, he’s joining us for road rides and entered a mountain bike race borrowing a e-bike, loving every moment of it! We shared life’s victories and heartaches together, leaning on each other for strength and always praising our Heavenly Father for all His blessings. Marquex will always hold a special place in my heart and will forever be remembered for his ear-to-ear smile and joyful spirit. I look forward to the day we can be reunited in God’s Kingdom.

God Speed,

- Tom H

Dearest Ife ~ my heart is full with fond memories of being your neighbor on Amador Street. Marquex was still in high school and Bebe was in grade school, I believe Kim and Michelle were out living their best lives, and you and Levi were the coolest parents... and then there was Ginger 🥰. The boys were like my younger brothers and I will cherish all that that experience brought to my life. Thank you. I am knowing that you are indeed surrounded by more than enough love and peace to support you during this time. Sending you a giant virtual hug 🤗and lots of love ❤️. In love and gratitude... ~Deb Kersey

Just like my daughter Cassandra, I too have reflected on the last loving presence of my nephew, Marquex. It is the time that Marquex carry my granddaughter, Tyler in his arms who was suffering from one of her constant sickle cell attacks, at one of our family celebrations. It was so heart felt by all of the family, to witness, our Marquex love for his family. But now, my caring , beloved nephew, Marquex is his own witness of love, from his family on Earth and in Heaven. Love Uncle Ike and Family.

Footprints:

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he
was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints
in the sand: one belonging to him, and the
other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before
him, he looked back at the footprints in the
sand. He noticed that many times along the path
of his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the
Lord about it. ‘Lord, you said that once I decided
to follow you, you would walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome
times in my life, there is only one set of
footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed
you most you would leave me.’

The Lord replied, ‘My son, my precious child, I
love you and I would never leave you. During
your times of trial and suffering, when you see
only one set of footprints, it was then that
 I carried you.’

Hi Ife,

This is your cousin Donald.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Marquex. I regret that I never got to meet him. But, I can tell just by looking at his pictures that he was a great man and wonderful person. There’s just a spirit of warmth and  goodness emanating from the pictures I see of him.

I love you and I’m praying for you and the whole family.

Love Donald

My condolences to Marquex's family. I first met Marquex when he started working at Apple. I introduced myself and and let him know that if he needed any info that he could come see me. We had plenty of conversations about his career and life.  Marquez was a very motivated and intelligent young man! He was on a fast track to become a Manager!!! I encouraged him all the time. We talked about his Son all the time. Marquez would light up when he spoke about his boy. He had so many plans for him. We started working out at the gym together about 2 time a week. He was always up beat. I still can’t believe he is gone!!!  Miss you my Brotha. RIH

When I die
Give what’s left of me away
To children
And old me that wait to die.

And if you need to cry,
Cry for your brother
Walking the street beside you.
And when you need me,
Put your arms
Around anyone
And give them
What you need to give to me.

I want to leave you something,
Something better
Than words
Or sounds.

Look for me
In the people I’ve known
Or loved,
And if you cannot give me away,
At least let me live on in your eyes
And not your mind.

You can love me most
By letting
Hands touch hands,
By letting bodies touch bodies,
And by letting go
Of children
That need to be free.

Love doesn’t die,
People do.
So, when all that’s left of me
Is love,
Give me away.

I'm deeply sadden to hear of Marquex passing . He and I enjoyed some great times on the ski sloops.
He used me as a sounding board at Apple when he wanted advice. I enjoyed working with him and had high respect for his talents. Our last conversation was when he was thinking about applying for the RSM position in PA.
He was a people person that many adored.
My deepest sympathy to the Boynton Family and his many Friends.

Marquex came to work at Apple as a Volt temporary worker for the department I was leading. I knew immediately he was very special and unlike anyoneI had ever met. He was a shining star and shone brightly in this warehouse. As his contract was coming to an end I was relentless in telling management that they needed to hire him. They created an opening just for him so we wouldn't lose him. He quickly rose in the ranks from lead to supervisor and was going straight to the top. He went from working for me to being my supervisor! My favorite things about Marquex was his amazing laugh, beautiful smile, positive attitude and kindness. He would say the cutest things, 2 of which I'm keeping alive in my vocabulary. When I would tell him he was awesome he would say, "It takes one to know one!" His other really cute saying was, "cool beans". Marquex and I went on business trips together, he came to my house on several occasions and once with his mom for Super Bowl. We've been rafting, had poker and pool parties and were on the same team for several years in the Corporate Games. He adopted my sister's dog, Bosco, when she couldn't keep him after her husband died. I miss Marquex every day and pray for all of us who are hurting. I lift up his mom, sisters, wife, son and other family members daily for comfort and peace. Such a beautiful soul.

When Great Trees Fall
by Maya Angelou

When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety.

When great trees fall
in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses
eroded beyond fear.

When great souls die,
the air around us becomes
light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly,
see with
a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
examines,
gnaws on kind words
unsaid,
promised walks
never taken.

Great souls die and
our reality, bound to
them, takes leave of us.
Our souls,
dependent upon their
nurture,
now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
and informed by their
radiance,
fall away.
We are not so much maddened
as reduced to the unutterable ignorance
of dark, cold
caves.

And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed.

Marquex is a strong root in our family tree and will always be remembered and loved. Living on different coasts didn't allow for frequent visits and growing up and taking on life's challenges with work and family makes it harder. But one thing I know is that this family was raised with love and it is an amazing foundation that will enable me to be saddened when needed, to laugh and smile over pictures and remembered occasions, to know that he is with his brother and dad and to know that Marquex existed. He will be forever loved. I will continue to pray for your son and our family. Until we meet again baby boy. Love your cousin Kim.

To my beloved sister and family and to all those who loved Marquex;words cannot convey the depth of our sorrow. The hurt is so deep and the loss still seems so unreal. We have some heart wrenching choices to make. What would Marquex want us to do? I believe he would want us to celebrate his remarkable life and do everything we can to support Matthew in his absence. Marquex was full of loving kindness and compassion, he shared that on the regular. Let us make him proud by living our best life in his honor. We can and will carry him in our hearts until we meet him again! We celebrate you Marquex ❤️

Marquex❤️ came to visit to celebrate Uncle Larry’s Birthday. During the celebration, Tyler had a Sickle Cell Crisis. Before the ambulance could be called, he picked her and he carried her to my car. He drove with me to the nearby hospital. While there, he contacted his friend who had Sickle Cell as well, and soothed her spirit while sharing his experiences with Sickle Cell. Marquex stayed the entire time and didn’t return to the party. He stayed to comfort her and he made sure her pain had deescalated. It truly was a humbling experience. That is a memory of my beloved❤️. The one that stirs something inside of me every time I think about it because it was such an unselfish moment. Many people have been around Tyler when she had a crisis yet I haven’t seen any of them swoop her up and carry her to her safe place (the hospital) as my cousin did. Rest In Peace Beloved❤️.
I shall never forget the love you poured into me or the rest of my family. I will remember our talks about business ventures and job opportunities. Phase Ten & Our discussions about traveling overseas to establish partnerships there. I truly will be forever grateful for God allowing him to be a part of my life. Such a beautiful human being inside and out. I will cherish you and your memory for the rest of my days. Love you Ramesses‼️‼️😘❤️❤️❤️
My fondest memory of my cousin Marquex was during the last time he visited us in Georgia. I was pregnant with our first son Christian. We thoroughly enjoyed our time together, as we didn’t get to see each other often. There were lots of laughs, big hugs, and just an over all great time bonding. My husband and I told Marquex that we couldn’t agree on a middle name for the baby. He suggested we name him Adeyemi. I laughed the name off at the time, because I didn’t understand what the name meant. I was like Adehooooo!!!?? Shortly after we learned that the name Adeyemi meant: first born and air to the throne. It was absolutely perfect! Christian would be our first son and as Christian’s according to Romans 8:16 we are co- heirs with Christ. Marquex is the reason why Christian Adeyemi McIntosh has his name. I am truly grateful for that precious time we had together. Thanks for my baby’s name cuz! You will always be loved and never be forgotten! ❤️

Life is like a mist that appears for a little while and then it's gone. Isa 40:8 Although, Marquex is gone - he will never be forgotten, how can we forget that million dollar smile inherited from his grandfather Ernest Boynton.  We're so thankful for all his accomplishments, loving memories, laughter, pie contests between east coast and west coast and his food pics.  We loved him in life and we will continue to love him in death.  To my west coast family, there are no words we can express to fill your void but know we're praying for your renewed strength daily during this difficult time.
