Marlene's obituary
Marlene Rochon of Ottawa, ON, born on May 21, 1948, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on April 16, 2026, at the Civic Hospital. She is now reunited in the presence of the Lord with her beloved parents, Eugene Rochon and Anna Joan Rochon (née Daly), as well as her sister, Nancy Thornton (née Rochon), all of whom predeceased her.
Marlene was a proud Civil Servant of the Canadian government for 35 years, a role she carried out with dedication and integrity. She lived her life grounded in faith, guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, and sustained by a quiet strength and devotion that touched all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her sisters: Sheila Gordon (née Rochon) and her husband Timothy Gordon; Joy Munro (née Rochon) and her husband Lorne Munro; and Lorraine Arsenault (née Rochon) and her husband William Arsenault. She is also survived by her brother, Steven Rochon, and his wife Lois Rochon (née White), and her brother-in-law Doug Thornton.
Marlene will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews: Mark (Jen), Karen, Scott (Sarah), Shawn (Kim), Kelly (Joe), Jan, Kenneth (Crystal), Laine, Sarah, Jennifer, James and Kyle (Jesseka); all of whom brought her great joy.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her honour on May 8, 2026 at 1:00pm at St. John the Apostle Church (2340 Baseline Road Ottawa), where family and friends will gather in prayer, commending her soul to God.
