Mark's obituary

Mark York, 75, passed away peacefully on April 7th, 2023 in Rancho Cordova. He was born on November 27th, 1947 in Lowell, MA to Ralph and Sandy York. He has resided in San Jose, CA, Sisters, OR and Yuba City, CA.

Mark was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered for his humor, quick wit, plastic canvas crafts, love of travel, and his unwavering love and dedication to his family.

For over 20 years, Mark was a beloved and distinguished kindergarten teacher at Holly Oak Elementary School in San Jose. He had a passion for teaching and enjoyed keeping learning fun and engaging for his students.

Mark was known for his plastic canvas necklaces, which he made for every holiday and season for his students, family and friends. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor.

Mark is survived by his wife Laura, children Jacy and Autumn, Grandchildren Sean, Kegan, and Francesca. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Sandy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to “The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research” in memory of Mark York.

Memorial service will be held June 10, 2023 at 11:27 at Holycross memorial service in Yuba City

Mark will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
