Mark Robert Vormittag, 68, of Round Lake Beach, IL died of a heart attack on December 10, 2024 while at home. He was born September 9, 1956 in Chicago, IL to Marcel E. Vormittag and Norma J. Turner Vormittag.

Mark was a graduate of Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove Village, IL, and attended college before going into the highway inspection workforce and later entering the sales field. Mark met Alison (former wife) in 1981 and they later married in 1985, they have two children,  Michael and Katie. In his late 50's Mark began living out his passion performing music full time. He was a self-taught musician, beginning at the age of 12, playing a variety of music before settling in the classic rock, blues and country genres. Mark formed various bands throughout the years, providing lead vocals and lead guitar. He was a talented songwriter as well as a published author. In 2023, Mark became a grandpa to Lucas Vormittag; whom he adored.

Surviving are his children, Michael (Lora) Vormittag, Katie (Doug) Andrews and their mother, Mark's former wife, Alison; grandchild Lucas Vormittag; sibling Donna (John Sr.) Haydin; long-time girlfriend Debra Day; nephews Robert (Kasee McIntosh) Vander Laan, Kevin (Jennifer) Vander Laan, Bryan (Kallie) Robb; grand nephews Colton Vander Laan, Kayden Vander Laan, Matthew Robb, and numerous cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life is planned for April 5th, 2025 at the Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N. Knox Ave, Chicago IL 60630.
