Mark's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mark Sleeth, who departed from our world on November 1, 2023. Born on October 30, 1953, Mark's journey through life has been a testament to resilience, passion, and love for those he held dear.

A cherished husband, father, and friend, Mark's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the fortune to know him. He joins his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Trudy Sleeth. He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Ann Zornes, and his two sons, Jason and Mark Sleeth, who have inherited not only their father's name but also his warmth, humor, and indomitable spirit.

Mark had a profound love for the world of science fiction and Fantasy, a passion he nurtured through tireless reading. His fascination with the genre inspired many lively discussions at the dinner table and fueled his children's imagination, encouraging them to dream beyond the stars. He spent a decade in the Navy, circumnavigated the globe twice, and always insisted on helping others, even if his assistance was declined.

Mark was also deeply committed to causes close to his heart. He was a firm believer in the critical role of foster care. His dedication to this cause was evidenced by his tireless work and advocacy, driven by his deep-seated belief that every child deserves a loving and nurturing environment.

While we mourn the loss of a remarkable man, we also celebrate his life, the lives he touched, and the positive change he affected. Mark Sleeth will forever be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family and the causes he championed.
