Mark John Reese

August 15, 1968 – January 25, 2025

Mark John Reese, 56, of Brandon, Florida, passed away on January 25, 2025. He was born on August 15, 1968, in Fort Benning, Georgia. He was born with Spina Bifida, a condition resulting from his father’s service in Vietnam. Despite the challenges he faced, Mark lived a life full of determination, purpose, and dedication to others.

A proud graduate of Plant City High School, Mark went on to earn his master’s degree in special education from the University of South Florida. His passion for education led him to a fulfilling career as a special education teacher at Durant High School. 

Mark will be remembered for his resilience, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping others. He is survived by his father, George Reese III; his brother, George Reese IV; his niece, Melissa Smith; and his great-nephew, Reese Smith. His legacy of perseverance and compassion will live on in the lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Mark’s life at Bell Shoals Baptist Church at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Spina Bifida Association.
