Mark's obituary

Mark "Drifty" "Elwood" Neely, 63, of Lakeside, California, passed away on May 18, 2022.

Mark was born on July 6, 1958 to Phyllis and James Neely in Fort Pierce, Florida. Mark was a kind soul and wouldn't hesitate to feed you, give you the shirt off his back or give you his last dollar. He was very proud of and loved his children, Danielle and Jacob, and loved his five grandchildren deeply. Although divorced, Mark shared a very special bond and friendship with his former spouse Jeanenne, "J Bird" as he fondly called her, and they remained close friends until the end. Mark had many other friends as well, including his very best, truest friends, Vergil and Lisa.

Mark loved classic rock and country music, and listened to it wherever he went, even when he slept. He had a silly sense of humor that he passed on to his children and grandchildren, including one of his favorite sayings: "I'm sure!" Towards the last part of his life, he finally got to travel outside of Lakeside thanks to his daughter, son and daughter-in-law Danielle, Jacob and Melisa. He cherished those travels a lot. Everyone who got to know him truly or be a part of his life knew what a good person he was and tried to be, despite his struggles. He will be missed by many.

Mark is survived by his two children Danielle Neely and Jacob Neely, and five grandchildren, Andrew, Destiny, Briana, Isis and Iris. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Mark's son and daughter Jacob Neely & Danielle Neely, 115 Camelot Drive, Castle Rock, WA 98611. There will be no services per Mark's request and the burial of his ashes will be private.
