Mark's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Lester McFadden, age 62, of Canton, Texas, who departed this life on December 10, 2024. He was born on March 27, 1962, to Dr. Henry Jennings McFadden Jr. and Barbara Jean Brown. His middle name honored his maternal grandfather, Bernice Lester Brown.
Mark grew up with a love for sports and the outdoors. He enjoyed football, soccer, baseball, hunting, and fishing. Many of his fondest memories were made at hunting leases across Texas alongside his father, Hank, and brother, Michael. His favorite hunting companions included his beloved dogs Blondie, Cindy, John, and Whiskey.
He graduated J.J. Pearce High School in 1980 and pursued higher education at Baylor University and North Texas State University. He built a successful career first in roofing and later as an insurance adjuster.
Mark was renowned for his quick wit and exceptional storytelling ability. His talent for crafting elaborate tales and delivering jokes brought laughter to those around him. A trivia enthusiast and gifted with numbers, he could solve complex math problems effortlessly in his head. Above all, Mark was a generous man who went above and beyond for his family and friends.
Mark met his wife Donna in 1988, and they were together until 1992. After a brief split, they reunited and married in 1998 for 26 years. Together, they built a family, raised three children, and shared a life full of love and treasured moments.
Mark is survived by his wife Donna McFadden; his son Travis McFadden and his stepdaughters Brandi Tanyaviriya and Cheri Langford; his grandchildren Drew Tanyaviriya, Emily Marie Tanyaviriya, Nicole Langford, Blake Langford, Abigail Tanyaviriya, and Jason; his brother Michael Lee McFadden; and his niece Katie McFadden.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Victory Church in Canton, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Mark's life and legacy.
Mark’s warmth, humor, and zest for life will remain in our hearts forever. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
