We send our deepest condolences on the loss of your father and father-in-law, Mark. He was a thoughtful, creative and loving man and neighbor who contributed much to our world through his life, work and especially his wonderful family. We miss him dearly.

Mark was a great guy and true friend. We shared formative years in journalism, raucous times as house mates, and the ups and downs of professional careers. A lot of our communication was bro chat, shared during many hours spent bumping along in a golf cart. But there was also heart-felt reflection and sharing about our lives as dads and husbands, both of us blessed with tremendous wives and kids. Our gratitude and love for each other went unsaid until Mark’s final months, when it felt good to say, “I love you, bro.” I miss Mark a lot, but have crazy good memories. I’m so glad he lives on with Sam and Martha Hanna.
