Mark's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mark DeGraaf on January 19, 2025. Known for his quirky charm, adventurous spirit, and unwavering strength, Mark was a man of many stories and experiences. He was fondly remembered as the man who talked to ducks, spent countless hours on his cherished floater on Lake Washington, and embraced the great outdoors with a passion that inspired those around him. His love for hiking and sharing adventures with strangers reflected his open heart and zest for life.

Born in 1949, Mark filled his life with remarkable adventures, always making everyone feel special.

As a father, he was steadfast and supportive, instilling in his children and grandchildren a deep love for nature and the outdoors. His adventurous spirit and nurturing presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Mark is survived by his wife, Rose; children Veronica (Ronnie), John Derrick (JD), and Katherine (Katie); and grandchildren Ethan, Austin, Maliah, and Lilliana. His legacy will endure through the countless memories he created and the love he showed.

A private intimate celebration of his life will be held on March 9, 2025 in Kirkland, WA

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests that those who knew Mark celebrate his life by sharing stories, pictures, laughter, and love.
