Mark's obituary

Mark Wayne Crowder, Sr.

April 15, 1960 – February 26, 2026

Mark Wayne Crowder, Sr., 65, of Plant City, Florida, passed away on February 26, 2026. Born on April 15, 1960, in Tampa, Florida, Mark lived a life full of laughter, loyalty, faith, and love for his family and friends.

He was the beloved son of the late Lorraine Kennedy Crowder and Jimmie Bogard Crowder. He was also preceded in death by his brothers James, and Michael Crowder, and stepmother Ronnie.

Mark is survived by his former wife of four years, Sonya Crowder; his son, Mark Wayne Crowder Jr.; and his cherished granddaughter, Lillian, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his brothers Tony Crowder & wife Jenny Crowder, Edward Crowder, and Donald “Skip” Crowder. He leaves behind many loving nieces — Kristen, Krystal, Kennedy, and Presley — and nephews — Anthony, Dylan, Damian, and Walker — along with countless extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Mark worked as a Merchant Seaman with Hendry Corporation and Martin Marine, dedicating many years to his career on the water. He was hardworking and dependable, but beyond his profession, he was known most for his personality.

Fun-loving, kind, outgoing, and wonderfully goofy, Mark had a way of making people feel comfortable the moment they met him. His familiar “Yuuuup” could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He was unapologetically himself — never afraid to show love, compassion, or a little humor. Those who knew him often say he didn’t have a single bad relationship. He treated everyone with warmth and respect.

Mark was a proud Harley-Davidson enthusiast who loved riding motorcycles and sharing that passion with others, especially his brothers. Above all else, he loved his family fiercely. He was a collector of Crown Royal bags, family photos, and every card he ever received — small treasures that reflected how much he valued memories and the people who gave them.

A devoted Christian, Mark gave his life to Christ in 2017 and carried his faith with sincerity and gratitude. His belief shaped the way he lived — with forgiveness, kindness, and an open heart.

In lieu of a traditional funeral, the family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 7, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Squeezer and Candis’ residence, 10520 McIntosh Road. At 1:00 PM, friends and family are invited to participate in a brief motorcycle ride around the block, stopping at Mark’s yard for a prayer and send-off before returning to gather, share food, stories, and memories. Motorcycles are encouraged, and covered dishes are welcome.

Mark’s life was not measured in years alone, but in the laughter he sparked, the love he gave freely, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
