I'm very saddened to find that Mark has passed.sympathy for the family. I heard about banning when I was just 12. Met him when I was 13 starting lessons. Became friends over the amazing time together over the course of 3 + years. All of his students in Manteca were blessed to have him with us. He made future musician's better and better at their instruments and as people. He had a special personality that was unique, fun, happy, loved to laugh and was awesome personality!!

Banning created some of the best musicians out of every day type of children 😁 Great man undescribable one of a kind musician.

I am very lucky for him to have been a part of my life!

I'm very saddened.

We love you banning 💔

We are shocked and saddened. We do hope to give Valerie a hug soon. Love Keith and Laural (lauralayala@msn.com)
"'Cause We  Have Ended As Lovers," the famous Jeff Beck song is performed Mark Banning the last time he appeared with The Hippie Voices in January 2023 at the Sausalito Cruising Club. We had never played this tune, so he handed us charts and we did it.

Mark will be sorely missed among Bay Area music lovers fortunate enough to have seen him perform. He was an incredibly gifted musician who always looked like he was enjoying himself while playing the most amazing music. He often stole the show, but with humility. Heaven just gained a shining star.

My condolences to Mark's family. I first met Mark when I took my first guitar lesson with him.

We used to talk about his band memories and have a lot of laughs during lessons.

Mark was one of a kind and one of the coolest guys I have ever met. I am proud to call Mark my friend forever.

Going to really miss you Mark and your compassion towards music. Thank you Mark for what you taught me to learn to become like you! A big fan of picking up a guitar. I am heartbroken to hear you are leaving us to be with the Lord. I know you are jamming up in heaven with the best of them! Everytime I pick my guitar 🎸 up I will always think of you!! I love you Mark and always will!! ❤️❤️

To Valerie & Marks Family!

You will be greatly missed but remembered forever! I am sorry for this Families loss! May you RIP! I know you’ll continue to play your guitar/music while in Heaven! Blessings to all!
