Mark and Candi's obituary

Mark and Candi lived simple, ordinary lives but the way they loved others was anything but ordinary. It reached far and wide and was felt by so many. To honor their memory, we ask that you choose to spread acts of kindness and extravagant love.

Mark Anthony Beam went to heaven on May 19, 2023 and was 75 years old. Born in Portland, Oregon on May 16,1948 to parents Golden Ray (Jack) and Jo Ann Beam, Mark was the oldest of four children. After graduating from Beaverton High School in 1966, he joined the Air Force and served in the Vietnam War, later joining the National Guard reserves.

Mark worked in management at Willamette Industries for nearly 30 years. After retiring from Willamette, Mark started long-haul truck driving to remain busy. Content with a simple, quiet life, retirement found him doing the things he loved: fishing with his brother, gardening with his wife, woodworking in his shop, and enjoying time with family and friends. A skilled craftsman, he enjoyed household projects and helping people upgrade their homes and was known as a "fix-it" guy. Deceptively gruff on the outside with a sarcastic sense of humor and a mischievous laugh, he was a big old softie on the inside. He was proud of all his children and grandchildren and loved to brag about them. He truly was the salt of the earth and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Candice Joy Beam went to heaven on May 19, 2023 and was 74 years old. Born in Longview, Washington on November 30, 1948 to parents Ralph and Joyce Carr, Candi was the only girl of their four children. She graduated from Clatskanie High School in 1966 and attended Northwest University in Kirkland, WA.

Candi spent 20 years keeping the books for Parr Lumber Company and another several years doing the same for Stagecraft Industries. She had an uncanny ability to make a house feel like a home; always cozy, beautifully decorated, making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Most likely, she would have baked a Bisquick coffee cake to enjoy during the visit. She loved her flower gardens and enjoyed drinking coffee on the back porch with Mark. She never missed cheering on her nephews and great nephews at their ball games and loved antiquing and bargain shopping. She always saw the good in people and loved to laugh and be silly. Her faith in God was strong and she was anxious to get to Heaven and meet Jesus and be reunited with her mom and brother. Her greatest love was her family and she had a love deeper than the ocean.

Mark and Candi celebrated 49 years of marriage March 29, 2023.

They are survived by son Craig Beam (wife Teresa), daughter Jill Black (husband Doug), and daughter Karin Siccardi (husband Jon). They are also survived by several grandchildren who they loved unconditionally: Sierra Leech (Adrian), Logan Quinton (Nathaly), Kendyl Beam, Daphne Zumwalt, Ella Siccardi, Hazel Siccardi, JonMark Siccardi, William Siccardi and great-grandson, Oliver Quinton.

Candi is survived by brothers Randy Carr (Edna) and Greg Carr (Tracy). Mark is survived by brother Mike Beam (Susan) and sister Mechelle Beam. They are both survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended loved ones.
