Marj's obituary

Snow, Mary Marjorie (Marj) - Age 85 of Ottawa, Ontario had her prayers answered and saw the face of God on November 13, 2017 when she passed away peacefully at Saint-Vincent Hospital in Ottawa. Marj was born in Port-Aux-Port, NL, the daughter of the late Henry and Annie Marche.
While living in Saint John, NB (1965-1985), Marj dedicated her life to raising her family - she was a remarkable mother. Additionally, Marj worked serving and uplifting the lives of seniors through numerous volunteer efforts and her employment as an activities coordinator at Rocmaura Nursing Home in Saint John, NB.
Marj moved to Ottawa in 1985 where she remained until 2002. She moved back to New Brunswick and settled for six years in Woodstock. In 2007 she was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, prompting a return to Ottawa in 2008. Marj very much loved and appreciated her final eight years living at Chartwell Rideau Place Seniors Residence in Ottawa. Marj wanted to express a final word of thanks to residents for their friendship and to the wonderful management team and staff who served and supported her so well throughout her stay.
Marj was a faithful servant, meticulous in all her endeavors. Wherever she lived, she thoroughly enjoyed a great laugh with her friends and held them and her family close to her heart. In her private time, Marj kept active with crafts and knitting for the homeless and charitable organizations.
Marj is survived by her daughter Donna of Woodstock, NB and two sons, Glen of Ottawa and Wayne of Dubai, UAE (Colleen, Oakville, ON), grandchildren: Amy of Oakville, ON and Jordan of Toronto, ON, great-granddaughter, Eloise Marshall, special grand-niece, Tamie White, St. John’s NL, and several nieces and nephews. Marj is predeceased by her husband, John Snow, brothers, Bill, Thurston, Hughie, and sisters, Priscilla, Pearl and Laura.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the chapel of Hope Cemetery on Wednesday, Nov 22, 2017 in Ottawa.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held in Saint John on January 4th, 2018 - 12:10 at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception followed by Interment at St Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (online at http://cpff.ca/get-involved/d… ).
