I remember Maritza inviting all of us moms and our kids to her house. She was never judgmental or unwelcoming. Her hospitality brings warm memories of Berkeley. Maritza was someone who I could trust to provide safe advice. I remember her caring deeply and vigilantly for Mohammed; and never was he absent in a conversation because he was top of mind for her. One of the greatest mothers and friends I had the pleasure to know. May she Rest In Peace.
