Mike's obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marion "Mike" Clites, who left this world on December 24, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on April 9, 1940, in Tulare, California, Mike lived an active life filled with adventure and an indomitable spirit.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he displayed bravery and dedication.
He is survived by his children: Gina Clites, Michael Clites, Bernice Street, and Kelley Clites. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever hold him in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his dear long-time partner, Jane Neal, and his beloved son, Tony Clites.
Mike was a man of many interests; he was an avid reader who found joy in the written word and loved to read everything from war novels to romance. He was also known for his love of bowling, where he enjoyed the camaraderie he found in the leagues. He was an adventurer at heart, taking road trips and enjoying nature through activities like fishing and golfing.
As the family mourns the loss of their father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, we also celebrate the rich and fulfilling life that Mike led. He taught us the importance of living life while you can. His absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
A celebration of life and ash scattering ceremony will be held at an as yet undetermined future date.
You will be dearly missed until we are together again, dad. Thank you for the love, laughter, and lessons you shared with us. In this life, we will carry your memory with us always.
